About the artist

Meet Darren.

Family is important to Darren. His passion for art reaches beyond tattooing to art advocacy and collaboration with artists from different disciplines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a minor in Art History.

In Darren’s own words

Tattooing is deeply personal work. Every piece begins with a person: their experiences, their memories, and something they choose to carry forward. My responsibility is to listen closely, understand what matters to them, and bring that meaning to life through thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship.

For more than 16 years, I built my career within one shop, developing my craft and lasting relationships with the people who entrusted me with their skin. That commitment reflects the consistency I bring to my work: being present, dependable, and dedicated to the quality of both the tattoo and the experience surrounding it. My clients mean a great deal to me, and I value the conversations, trust, and connections we build over time.

My education in graphic design, studio art, art education, and art history informs how I approach each tattoo. It gives me a broad foundation in composition, visual storytelling, and artistic tradition, while helping me communicate ideas clearly and create work that complements the individual wearing it.

At Prodigal Ink, I carry those values into a clean, welcoming, and reliable studio where each client receives personal attention. From the first conversation through the final details and aftercare, I want you to feel heard, respected, and confident in the care you receive.

My goal is to create meaningful, enduring artwork with integrity and to honor the person whose story gives it purpose.
